The game supports two-player local cooperative play. A second player can join at any time using another Joy-Con or controller to play as Bandana Waddle Dee.
Explore the 3D environments thoroughly to find collectibles, secret areas, and the hidden Waddle Dees to rescue.
Use Kirby's Copy Abilities by inhaling certain enemies. Experiment with the new Mouthful Mode by inhaling large objects like cars or traffic cones to solve puzzles and traverse the environment.
Return to Waddle Dee Town between levels to use collected resources for upgrades, play mini-games, and unlock new features.
