• Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride 0.05% w/v (500 micrograms per 1 ml)

Suitable For

For the relief of nasal congestion and sinus pressure associated with the common cold, sinusitis, or hay fever/allergic rhinitis. Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Instruction

• Dosage: Single Dose: One spray into each nostril.
• Maximum Daily Dose: Do not use more than two times in any 24-hour period (i.e., a maximum of two sprays per nostril per day).
• Administration: Shake gently before use. Prime the pump before first use (spray into the air until a fine mist appears). Breathe in gently while spraying. Do not tilt your head back. Wipe the nozzle clean after each use.
• Duration of Treatment: Do not use this medicine for more than 3 consecutive days (7 days for children 12-17 years). Repeated use beyond this period can cause rebound congestion (Rhinitis Medicamentosa).

Warning

Do not use:

• If you are allergic to oxymetazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
• In children under 12 years of age.
• If you have heart, thyroid, liver, or kidney problems, or have had recent nasal/sinus surgery.
• If you are taking or have recently taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants or other medicines that increase blood pressure.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include temporary mild stinging, burning, dryness, or irritation inside the nose, sneezing, or headache. Uncommon side effects can include palpitations, dizziness, or sleep disturbances.

In case of severe local reactions, allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing), or any other unexpected effects, stop use and consult a doctor immediately.
