Usage Instruction:
Initial Setup: Before first use, run the toaster on its highest browning setting without bread to "cure" the heating elements. A slight odor or small amount of smoke is normal during this first cycle.
Toasting: Place bread into the extra-wide slots. Select your preferred shade (1 for light, 6 for dark) using the Variable Browning Control dial. Push the Bread Carriage Lever down until it locks to begin.
Independent Controls: This model features independent controls for each pair of slots, allowing you to toast different items simultaneously with separate settings.
Defrost Function: Insert frozen bread, lower the lever, and immediately press the Defrost button to add extra time for thawing while achieving the selected browning level.
Reheat Function: Use the Reheat button to warm up toast that has cooled without further browning it.
Cancel Function: Press Cancel at any time to immediately stop the toasting cycle and pop up the bread.
High-Lift Eject: The lever features a high-lift function, allowing you to manually raise smaller items like crumpets higher for safe removal.
Cord Storage: Use the integrated underside cable storage to keep your countertop tidy and prevent the cord from touching hot surfaces.
Safety Warning
Fire Hazard: Bread may burn; never use the toaster near or below flammable materials like curtains or cupboards. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
Hot Surfaces: The outer surface and the top of the toaster can become extremely hot during operation. Avoid touching until completely cooled.
Crumb Management: This model includes two removable crumb trays that must be emptied regularly to prevent built-up crumbs from becoming a fire hazard. Never operate without the trays fitted.
Electrical Safety: Do not use with an extension cable or external timer. Always ensure your hands are dry before touching the plug.
Jamming: If bread becomes stuck, unplug the unit and let it cool completely before attempting removal. Never use metal implements (knives or forks) to clear debris, as this can cause electric shock or damage the heating elements.
