    Product Features

The Blackmoor 28cm Low Casserole is a premium 2.5-litre cookware piece engineered for superior heat retention and even thermal distribution. Weighing approximately 4.5–5.5kg, this heavy-duty pot features a wide, low profile (10cm height without lid; 15cm with lid) that encourages efficient evaporation for flavor reduction in stews, braises, and one-pot meals. Designed for versatility, it transitions seamlessly from gas, electric, ceramic, or induction cooktops to the oven and finally to the table for serving. The well-fitting lid and sturdy side handles ensure moisture is locked in during slow cooking, making it an ideal choice for families seeking professional-grade results in a stylish black finish.

    Materials

High-quality cast iron construction for exceptional thermal mass, finished with a durable, protective black enamel coating that resists staining and facilitates easier cleaning.

    Installation & Maintenance

Before the first use, wash the casserole in warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly. To preserve the enameled surface, hand washing is strongly recommended, as dishwasher detergents can dull the finish over time. Avoid using metal utensils that may scratch the enamel; instead, use wooden, silicone, or heat-resistant plastic tools. For stubborn food residue, soak the pot in warm water with a small amount of baking soda before cleaning with a non-abrasive sponge. Ensure the pot is completely dry before storage, and apply a light coating of cooking oil to any exposed cast iron rims to prevent rust.

    Safety Warnings

Burn hazard: the cast iron body, lid, and handles become extremely hot during cooking and retain heat for a long period; always use heavy-duty oven mitts or heat-resistant pads when handling. This product is heavy and should be lifted carefully to avoid strain or damage to glass cooktops; do not slide the pot across ceramic or induction surfaces. Avoid thermal shock by allowing the hot pot to cool before placing it in cold water, as rapid temperature changes can cause the enamel to crack. Not suitable for use in microwave ovens. Ensure the casserole is placed on a stable, heat-protected surface when serving to prevent damage to tabletops.
